"Things Aren't Going Well, Blame The Media"

"The Race Is On": One of this afternoon's hot political topics on CNN was the news media's speculative treatment of Senator Hillary Clinton's Presidential campaign.

Following last night's final Democratic debate before the March 4 primaries, questions arose amongst pundits regarding television's possible bias towards Senator Barack Obama and against Clinton. Maybe Clinton's very own commentary during the debate regarding a recent skit on last week's Saturday Night Live could have potentially created more conversation on the topic, but what do you think? Is the main stream media publicly choosing sides?

The Sleuth Blog of WashingtonPost.com posted recently "just because it's funny...." Unlike the parties above, here are some kiddos who have publicly denounced Clinton.

I just think the media focuses too much on the horse-race aspect, and not enough on the issues. All they present are percentages and projections for who will win, nothing of real substance about the candidates themselves. We hear more about their tactics to defeat each other than we do their tactics to make America better. You really have to make an effort to see where each candidate stands on the issues.

The funny thing is, both Hillary and Obama stand in much the same place on a lot of issues.

In some respects, the media's reporting that support for Hillary Clinton is declining becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. At the same time, the media refers to Obama's campaign as "Obamania," as if you'd have to be crazy to support him.

So, it goes both ways, but I can't judge who's getting the worst of it.
